Calendar: Celebrate summer with Tomoka Brewing Company

Thursday, June 6

School’s Out for Summer

When: 4 p.m.

Where: Tomoka Brewing Company, 4647 S. Clyde Morris Blvd.

Details: Celebrate the start of summer break. Buy one adult meal, get two kids meals free. Art Rageous will have activities for the kids. Pay It 4ward will also be collecting school supplies for their backpack drive. Bring some school supplies for next year and receive 15% off your bill. Activities such as face painting and more will be available. 


When: 6 p.m.

Where: VFW Post 3282, 5810 S. Williamson Blvd.

Details: Live and silent auction, raffles, food and full bar that is open to the public. Tickets are $10 and includes a drink. Purse brands may include Michael Kors, Coach, Vera Bradley, Prada, BCBG and, plus a Michael Kors smart watch.

Sunday, June 9

The Remarkable River Run: 10K, 5K, and 1-Mile

When: 6:30 a.m.

Where: Aunt Catfish’s on the River, 4009 Halifax Drive

Details: Races are run along the banks of the Halifax River and feature flat, fast courses, a post-race party including music, vendor booths, door prizes and a complimentary breakfast buffet from Aunt Catfish’s on the River. Runners receive a race T-shirt and custom finisher medal, along with race swag. To register visit

Central Florida Zoo on the Move

When: 3-4 p.m.

Where: Auditorium of the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle

Details: This event is part of the "A Universe of Stories" summer reading program and is sponsored by the Friends of the Port Orange Regional Library. Recommended for fifth grade and under; space is limited. Experience close encounters with animals from around the world.

Laughter Yoga

When: 4-4:30 p.m.

Where: Port Orange Presbyterian Church, 4662 S. Clyde Morris Blvd.
