Thursday, July 11

Craft Night at the Elks

When: 6-9 p.m.

Where: Port Orange Elks Lodge 2723, 5207 S. Ridgewood Ave.

Details: Bob Ross Dolphin Seascape oil painting class taught by certified instructor Wendy Goodbred. $35 per person. Must be paid and reserved in advance with 24 seats available. The bar will be open during this event for those not interested in crafting. 

Sweet Frog Fundraiser

When: 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Sweet Frog Port Orange, 1657 Taylor Road

Details: Mention you are there to support Officer Nick Gurucharri as 20% of the day’s sales will be donated to him. Offer is valid on froyo, beverages and merchandise. Daytona Beach Police Officer Gurucharri was recently diagnosed with Stage III cancer. He is a father of two young children and balances two jobs. He is currently undergoing aggressive treatment. 

Saturday, July 13

Fourth-annual Crab and Seafood Festival

When: 2-8 p.m.

Where: Port Orange City Center, 1000 City Center Circle

Details: Event hosted by Divine Designs Event Planning and Decor LLC. Free entry and pet friendly. Seafood vendors, arts and crafts and more.

Teacher Appreciation Event

When: 12:30-4:30 p.m.

Where: Walmart, 1590 Dunlawton Avenue 

Details: This is a Teachers Only event, celebrating them for their hard work. There will be cake, ice cream, cold drinks, photo booths and goodie bags. The first 300 teachers will receive a special bag with treats from Crayola, 3M, Bic, Fiskars and more. Be sure to bring your teacher ID or have your email address handy. 

Port Orange Open Water Swim

When: 8-10 a.m.

Where: Aunt Catfish’s on the River, 4009 Halifax Drive

Details: Event hosted by Runner’s High Timing and Race Management. “Just Keep Swimming” is the motto as you take on one of four available distance challenges, all swims will be on a marked course in the Halifax River. Volusia County Lifeguards will be on hand to keep all swimmers safe. Tickets are available at

Details: Port Orange South Daytona Chamber of Commerce event. $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

Clothes Swap

When: 6-7:30 p.m.

Where: Natural Health Practices, 4904 Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite A

Details: A free event that is open to everyone. Bring one item or your entire closet. Any clothes left over after the swap will be donated to the Junior League and Resources for Women in Daytona Beach. Call or text the Natural Health Practices office at 307-8207.

Saturday, July 20

Ninth-annual RoseBay Cardboard Boat Regatta

When: 1-5 p.m.

Where: Hidden Treasure Tiki Bar and Grill, 5993 S. Ridgewood Ave. 

Details: Race starts at 3 p.m. and is hosted by The Rock of Daytona. There will be food, drink specials, prizes, raffles/giveaways and more. Build your boat, register your crew and craft, and paddle away for cash prizes. Visit
